Only half of all private companies and public organizations consider that they are well equipped for IT security threats. At the same time, significantly more realize that they must invest in IT security solutions in the future. Visma’s report “The Digital Society”, based on a survey of 1,400 Swedish companies and organizations shows this.
“In an increasingly digitized society, IT security becomes crucial in order to be able to operate effectively. Protecting themselves and customers from data scams becomes as important as for example, to alert the office, “says Pär Johansson, digitalisation expert at Visma.
The report shows that only half of the country’s companies and organizations, 52 percent, say they are well equipped for threats to IT security. Every tenth, eleven percent say they are even poorly prepared for IT attacks.
At the same time, as many as three out of four companies and organizations, 76 percent, say it is important or important for them to invest in IT security solutions in the future. Only four percent say they will not invest more in IT security in the future.
“Many companies and organizations are currently investing in increased data and IT security. The goal is to build robust defense, which, among other things, protects against data breaches and ensures the handling of data about customers and employees. The new data protection regulation, GDPR, which comes into force on 25 May, will be important in this context for all types of business, “says Pär Johansson.
